Throughout my professional career and social life, I have formed different bonds with people across the world. The technical skills and personal qualities I acquired during my education and work at organisations with stellar reputation have made me successful in business, research, and education services – which has been a condition precedent to consistently develop and progress. My career path and achievements speak to them.
I have been a resident for many years in metropolitan cities of Europe, Asia-Pacific, and North America, as well as traveled to countless countries and cities for business and private purposes. This multitude of interactions with populations showcasing an invaluable blend of beliefs, cultures, and ways of thinking has broadened my cultural intelligence and has enabled international networking. Moreover, it generated a wealth of social and intercultural skills. In my private time, I work in the healthcare sector as an IFBB certified fitness trainer and support the mobility and health of people, which greatly improves my social competencies, as well as strengthens my body and mind connection.
Self-Starter
I conducted business development across cities and provinces in China, focused on establishing a successful intercontinental team collaboration. As a volunteer, I contributed to the education of young scientists lecturing for nearly a decade at the Joint European Summer School in hydrogen technologies and their computational research and development. I spearheaded collaborative success in many different countries by embracing discomfort.
Influencer and Innovative
I left visible footprints and contributed to several academic and industrial novel approaches in technology and organisational processes. For instance, at RWTH, the project management road map and project organisation content layouts were developed and standardised to improve team performance. I designed fuel cell system prototypes that have been 3D printed and used for marketing purposes at exhibitions during my work at FEV. Likewise, at Forschungszentrum Jülich, I demonstrated at the World Hydrogen Conference in 2010 a method to analyse complete energy systems in 3D for safe system operation. The term multiphysics has been widely used since then. My patent naturally shows my potential.
Learner, Passionate and Flexible
I consistently improve and enhance my practical and theoretical skills in a multitude of fields such as development and implementation of strategies, team building, change management, project management, quality management, decision making, process-oriented management at HArvard Business School, TÜV Rheinland or TAPLOW Academy. To stay tuned in the digital transformation era, I advanced my fundamentals in Artificial Intelligence, digitalisation of complex mathematical surrogate models, training data for machine learning and business implications at Massachusetts Insitute of Technology (MIT).
I actively voluntarily support and contribute to the clean environment, climate, and energy social political projects of the region Aachen, Germany. Support actively marine conservation through coral propagation and The Australian Marine Conservation Society. Worked beyond time zones and coordinated Asia-Pacific and North American company teams at FEV and worked beyond standard European working days on Sunday in China.
Strong Communicator
I'm confident in asking questions, sharing information or talking, teaching in front of any audience due to my 500+ project reviews, reports, meetings, conferences, etc. I was also in 2013 chosen as Institute spokesman, deputy for scientific and technical staff of the Forschungszentrum Jülich. My didactic and rhetoric are greatly improved due to my lecture duties.
Team Player
As COO, Director, Lecturer or Scientist, I worked intensively with HR, technical, sales, marketing teams, students, and peers to make decisions, delegate and receive responsibilities, and motivate people. As a project manager, I organised the workflow of teams. At Jülich, as a scientist working in interdisciplinary research, industry teams I shared knowledge to support collective intelligence for success that we demonstrated during 8 years of R&D as to mention a few.
Leadership
My peers describe my management and leadership implementation as collaborative. I believe it's greatly driven by a combination of skills and competencies I gathered over the years. For example, I organised and managed various teams during different stages of my career, where a blend of technical, administrative, sales, researchers, etc. worked collectively together to reach high-performance and strategy targets. I trained a multiphysics simulation scientist team at Forschungszentrum Jülich and successfully cultivated a collaborative team spirit. At FEV, my challenge has been the establishment, technical and disciplinary management of a fuel cell center of expertise comprising +30 cross-functional team members. I reported directly to the CEO and Board. I trained sales and marketing teams for co-creation of new end-to-end business solutions on exhibitions such as Hannover, Shanghai, to prepare and discuss proposals and presentations at customers and conferences. During my COO role for the competence center, I have used a combined approach including collaborative, participating, and results-based styles as to implement the most beneficial aspects in coordinating and leading a vast number of teams and managers from industry, academia, and social politics with different perspectives.
Language Skills
Excellent command of English, German and Turkish. I grew up multilingual. A vast number of my written and verbal work has been demonstrated at various platforms. I also took basic Spanish and Swedish lessons.
