I am glad to share an insight about my roles and showcase my transdisciplinary experience, capabilities, and potential that may add value from your perspective.
Implementing the unfreeze-change-refreeze stages is mandatory for organisations to determine how change is managed and translates strategy into operation! Staff, structure, and systems need to be aligned for change to take effect.
I welcome new business areas, apply my knowledge and experience to new contexts, dogging focus on execution with empathy. Empowering people requires resources. I spearheaded a sense of urgency and secured swift and early success in the competence center organisation structure that had a motivational and galvanising impact on team members. This is critical for any organisation to express the ability to deliver change otherwise suffering from tissue rejection.
Achievements
Kick-Off Meeting of the €12 million Industry 4.0 technology excellence center project. Me as COO, coordinating the 20+ consortium partners also moderated the meetings with leaders encountering an academic, industrial, or political mindset. Having worked in either environment enabled me to make the most practical compromises.
The competence center has strategic pillars comprising a steering committee and an advisory board with work package leaders, industry, and government representatives.
The competence center comprises many leaders and dozens of technical teams within the vicinity of Aachen to implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in SMEs. The steering committee and advisory board have been seeded, the foundation of the overall project introduced and ultimately handed over to a junior successor.

While shaping the future of the business, driving key change and transformation initiatives, tracking key industry trends, setting a framework to implement strategy into practice...all marks are required when I consult the CEO.
Briefing the press at an exhibition in China and representing FEV in new energy vehicles at the European Fuel Cell Forum (2019), which is the most important event in this field.
Building and reinforcing the company image through strong communication and presentation skills are of paramount importance. Trained in coaching, briefing, moderating, reporting, auditing, and feeding back...I benefit from my strong rhetoric and didactical skills gathered through long-standing academic teaching and supervising and customer relation activities.
I conveyed and amplified the company culture on worldwide events as a panel or guest speaker such as the New Energy Vehicle Technology Forum, European Chamber of Commerce, Automotive Roundtable, ATZ Congress Electrified Mobility, etc.
Knowing how to get things done and building a cohort at all levels has been key for me in business development and multi-project management.
Press demonstration of a new fuel cell electric vehicle by a valued partner prior to the Shanghai Automotive Show.
I initiated the strategic cooperation agreement on a comprehensive co-development of mass-production vehicles and joint promotion of the customer that was the first large-scale hydrogen project received from Asia-Pacific.
Before that, I organised together with the central units the first fuel cell electric vehicle conference with +100 worldwide participants from academia, industry, and politics. the company has been eligible to receive funds from governments.
As an Entrepreneur, I am curious and tasked to be passionate about different business and research fields within the age of digital transformation!
Being educated by prominent universities such as MIT, Harvard University, Loughborough University builds my framework for consistent development.
My intercontinental education and adaptation to digital technologies proactively built the competencies required for evidence-based decision making, self-reflection, and risk assessment capabilities by learning from others and sharing with others in their virtual and real meeting place of choice. With my team, I contributed to a vast of engineering applications and staff education through the academy.
Achievements:
As an expert reviewer, I evaluate the quality and innovation of research in academic publications such as the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Energies, Applied Energy, etc. As an invited lecturer, I supported and taught from 2012-2019 voluntarily at the Joint European Summer School on Fuel Cells, Batteries, and Electrolysers for collaborative education and networking in Europe.
My pedagogical experience improved many of the soft skills I use in customer engagement, collaborative work with international partners and businesses.
Received an award in 2017 at the International Automotive Engineering Conference for my contributions to future mobility technologies together with prominent representatives from global industry pioneers.
As an Entrepreneur, I have supported various industries and disciplines in technology and know-how, know-why transfer, product development, built transdisciplinary teams, spearheaded digitalised research such as computer-aided research, trained and supervised personnel. Years of experience and transdisciplinary collaborative working awards the efforts!
Consultancy requires evidence-based proven skills in various disciplines.
My proven expertise in various materials, engineering, and multiphysics processes comprise the interaction of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermomechanics, chemical and electrochemical processes used in different engineering sectors. This helps me to think out of the box!
I ve been sharing my experiences worldwide by consistently publishing quality written works such as technical books, articles.
I am the author of over 50 academic publications and summarised some of my experiences in my monograph „Multiphysics Modelling - Materials, Components and Systems“ published by the worlds most reputable leader in information and analytics ELSEVIER;

My experimental and theoretical research experience has spearheaded many innovative products in engineering technologies that created value and captured business opportunities. The sample high-temperature solid oxide electrolyser / fuel cell is one of them illustrated with the business card.
EP2372825 patent granted research in hydrogen and clean energy technologies
Honoured by the Chinese Academy of Science 100 World Talent Programme.
As a scientist, I gained and shared knowledge in the fields of the complete Power-to-X change including hydrogen production, utilisation, and application technologies. I built competencies in fuel cells, batteries, auxiliary components such as combustors, reformer, heat exchangers, their experimental and multiphysics 3D simulation at material, component, and system-level required to build a full understanding and initiate innovation. I consistently improved my interpersonal and technical skills as well as digital tool competencies.
Achievements:
I introduced 2010 at the World Hydrogen Conference for the first time in the literature how a whole fuel cell system with all components is digitalised and simulated in 3D. The term multiphysics has been spread across the world since then and boosted my career. Interacting with other well-known researchers such as 2007 Nobel Prize Winner Peter Grünberg, working closely together with Electrochemical Society Medallist Andrei Kulikovsjy or Christian-Friedrich-Schönbein Medallist Ludger Blum added value to my technical and personal skills.
Likewise coined by Aristotle, I am aware of what knowledge and expertise are required for the design, development and operation of energy systems.
Understanding thermal, mechanical, chemical, electrochemical processes is mandatory. Competences in various disciplines such as design, modelling, thermomechanical and thermofluid behaviour of components, life duration of materials, system and process engineering, IT, etc. is challenging but essential. To leash my potential as an innovator and influencer as well as transfer my knowledge required many soft skills that I gathered over time.
Okinawa, Honolulu, Atlanta, Glasgow, Shanghai, Beijing, Vienna, Lucerne, Athens, Istanbul, and a vast of global cities... I've held seminars, lectures, webinars, workshops, panels across the globe about various engineering and science subjects. This has continuously improved my emotional intelligence, ability to communicate complex ideas and convey crucial messages. The multi-cultural environment has greatly improved my global mindset, flexibility, and creativity that I have benefited from intensively throughout my career.

Within a large interdisciplinary scientist team of +100 people, I contributed directly to the world-record of 80000h non-stop fuel cell operation that provides an innovative technology solution for a decarbonised energy future. The solid oxide fuel cell technology is one of the major key technologies to be used towards a clean hydrogen economy. Our research and technology innovation led to many inventions, publications and awards that many of our experts including myself were honoured with.
I invented the fuel cell/electrolysis design that has been granted the European Patent File EP2372825. Mathematical relations, 1.5 Million Variants, surrogate modelling...all foundations we call today machine learning and pillars of Artificial Intelligence (AI) have been used for my innovative approach and product design. An incredible performance has been observed in practice for more than two years prior to proceeding to be adopted as the fundamental design of Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, Germany.
One of my business cards (must be around 2009) used during my approximately 8 years of employment in one of the largest research centers in the world.
